Osaka Boxing and Adventure Tour

World’s First! Fusion of Martial Arts and Tourism!

Regardless of nationality, visitors to Osaka can relieve travel stress through boxing training (mitt work and heavy‑bag workouts), then enjoy sightseeing focused on food in areas like Tenma and Tsuruhashi. Working up a sweat in the boxing session is expected to make subsequent dining during the tour taste even better.

Project Inauguration

I have worked as a boxing trainer for about five years and have organized events that combine boxing with other cultural elements (sauna sessions, matchmaking events, etc.). With the recent increase in foreign tourists seen at stations and around the city, inquiries about personal lessons at the gym where I train have been rising. Based on this trend and a desire to share the enjoyment of actually doing boxing—not just watching it—with people around the world, this project was launched.

Project Activities

In addition to coaching at the boxing gym, activities include mitt‑work and recreational sessions at facilities for people with disabilities and nursing homes, training for people with Parkinson’s disease, and collaborative events with hot stone baths and matchmaking gatherings. Continued coaching is provided for participants with Parkinson’s disease, and some couples have formed through the matchmaking events. Although modest in scale, these efforts are believed to bring happiness to people through boxing.

Future Prospects for the EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai

The project aims to use the Expo as an opportunity to spread the enjoyment of boxing and the sense of well‑being that exercise brings to many people worldwide. By making self‑defense skills and physical strengthening through training commonplace, the initiative seeks to promote the appeal of Japan‑origin fitness boxing to the world.
