The theme of Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai is “Designing a Future Society that Shines with Life. The theme of the Expo is “Designing a Future Society where Life Shines Brightly.” The goal of the Expo is to enable each individual to think about how they want to live their lives and realize their full potential, and to unite the world to realize a sustainable society that supports this way of life.
In Miyakojima Ward, they are working to build momentum for the Expo and to create a town for the future of Miyakojima Ward on the occasion of the Expo. The “Miyakojima Future Expo,” which connects people to people and town to town, is an initiative to create new attractions for Miyakojima Ward and to expand new possibilities for the town. They are working together with residents of Miyakojima Ward, local businesses, and shopping districts to realize a Well-Being society of the future.
In order to promote the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai , Osaka City is currently implementing the “24 Wards Expo,” which takes advantage of the unique characteristics of each ward. The goal is to promote the environmental resources and activities of each district and to encourage visitors to come to the Expo and visit the region.
Miyako-jima Ward is a nature-rich area surrounded by the Yodo River and the Okawa River, and has attractive waterside scenery. In addition, the area around Kyobashi Station, used by more than 500,000 people a day, has a concentration of shopping streets and historical culture. They are working with residents and businesses to build momentum for the Expo while taking advantage of such local resources.
City Dressing” and “Illumination” around Kyobashi Station and at the ward office (decorations in the city to build momentum for the Expo), “Dramatic Kyobashi” (distribution of promotional videos of stores and tourist resources around Kyobashi Station), “Miyakojima Future EXPO” at the 49th Miyakojima Ward Citizens’ Festival with special stage and booth (SDGs project), “BS Yoshimoto Songs and Town Boasts: 24 Wards of Osaka City Competition, Wish Ribbon Project” at the 50th Miyakojima Ward Citizens’ Festival (draw your wishes for the future on ribbons and hang them on vines to be exhibited at the Summer Expo Osaka Week), “People x Town File” (promote activities of people who like Miyakojima Ward), “Sakura-nomiya Beach PR), “Sakuranomiya Beach Festival,” “Miyakonojima Meets Nature 2025,” and many other projects.
Taking advantage of the Expo as an opportunity, we will promote urban development that takes advantage of the charms of each area of Miyakojima Ward. They hope to refine the places that ward residents feel important, and create places that will attract future businesses and serve as new town functions.
They will work with ward residents, local businesses, and shopping districts to realize a diverse range of happiness that connects people to the city, such as by promoting the attractiveness of the decorations and hospitality spots around Kyobashi Station and events that take advantage of the rich natural environment.
