Osaka Prefecture protects, creates, nurtures, and utilizes the unique landscape resources scattered throughout the prefecture in order to further enhance the attractiveness of Osaka. In addition, Osaka Prefecture is working to promote the attractiveness of Osaka’s scenic resources, such as “View Spot Osaka,” in order to encourage people to become more attached to and interested in the landscape and to participate in local scenic development.
“The Photogenic Osaka Project” is a project to promote the attractiveness of Osaka’s beautiful scenery on the occasion of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, which will bring many visitors to Osaka, through the concerted efforts of Osaka Prefecture, municipalities, and related organizations. During the project period, a variety of events will be held throughout the prefecture to enable visitors to learn about and experience the attractiveness of Osaka’s landscapes.
In 2025, when the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai will be held, many people from all over the world will come to Osaka. They will hold various landscape-related events all over Osaka to let people know and feel the beautiful landscape of Osaka as one of the attractive contents Osaka is proud of. At the same time, they hope that residents of Osaka will become aware of the beauty of Osaka’s landscape once again and develop a sense of attachment and interest in it, thereby becoming actively involved in landscape creation and landscape preservation.
The “View Spot Osaka Project” was launched in October 2024, and a variety of events are being held throughout the prefecture to allow visitors to experience the attractiveness of the landscape. The “View Spot Osaka” photo contest sponsored by Osaka Prefecture received more than 1,100 entries and was well received. Project information is posted on posters and leaflets distributed throughout the prefecture, as well as posted on a special website and on the official prefectural landscape Instagram “@osaka_landscape” as needed!
Many people from Japan and abroad will visit Osaka for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. They will take advantage of this opportunity to promote the attractiveness of Osaka’s landscape to the world, and to encourage residents of Osaka Prefecture to become more attached to and interested in the prefecture’s landscape.
