She was born in Kyoto in 1976. After graduating from Doshisha University, she joined Suntory Foods in 1999. Since 2008 she has worked in the vending‑machine division, focusing on the Kinki region and planning and promoting campaigns such as “extra‑sweet, larger coffee” and the “Win a Butaman” promotion.
We felt that “as Kansai people it would be a shame not to take part in this global festival” and wanted to “contribute to building momentum for EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai,” so we applied through the company’s internal call. Through this project, we hope to spark greater global interest in Japan’s proud cultural icon—the beverage vending machine—and to expand opportunities for Japanese artists by turning street vending machines into canvases.
