Area Manager, Minami Midosuji Association (General Incorporated Association)
He was born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1961 and raised in Shiga Prefecture. In 1988 he joined the Regional Planning and Architectural Research Institute (ALPAC). He is a professional engineer (construction division — urban and regional planning), a first‑class architect, and a certified urban planner (urban development planning). His specialties include community and town‑planning support, urban and residential environment improvement (densely built areas, housing complex regeneration), downtown revitalization, and area management.
He supported the founding of the Minami Midosuji Association and worked diligently on coordination for pedestrianization and social experiments. After the Expo was selected to be held, the social experiments became Expo‑oriented, and he took a lead role in promoting the public–private “Midosuji Satellite Plan” as a regional promoter.
We believe it would be a waste to let the Expo remain merely an event. The question is how to create lasting legacy from it and how to envision Midosuji, Minami, Osaka, and the wider Kansai region using the Expo as a catalyst. From that perspective, we will mobilize all stakeholders—community groups, public agencies, and the private sector—and work together with full commitment.
