Chair, The Osaka Restaurant Management Association

NAKAI Kanji

He is from Osaka Prefecture, born in 1976. After graduating from Keio University with a degree in economics, he joined Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. In 2014 he joined Chibo Co., Ltd. and became Executive Director. In 2018 he was appointed President & CEO. He currently holds public positions including Chairman of the Osaka Food Service Industry Association, Vice Chairman of the Osaka South Food & Tourism Association, Vice Chairman of the Dotonbori Shopping Association, and Executive Committee Member of the Kansai Association of Corporate Executives. Using EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai as an opportunity, he is working with restaurants and local businesses to boost Osaka through the power of food.

We see EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai as a prime opportunity to showcase Osaka’s culinary appeal to the world. The “Kūzo, Expo.” project will highlight Osaka as a food city by letting customers experience the creativity and skills of Osaka’s chefs through special “Expo menus.” We will also promote the Expo’s food offerings by presenting the entire city as one large bar—introducing area‑by‑area gourmet and sightseeing spots in the “Osaka Machigoto Bar” program—so please look forward to it.
