Osaka Eemachi Project Office (Certified NPO Service Grant)

KAWAI Yasuko

  • Kansai Office Staff, Certified NPO Service Grant

In 2017, she participated in the 1-Day Challenge of the Osaka Emachi Project as a pro bono worker herself, assisting nonprofit organizations (helping to create application forms for transportation assistance). She then joined Service Grant, a certified non-profit organization, in 2018 and is involved in the management of the project.

Previously, she worked for a marketing agency in Osaka City, where she was in charge of sales promotion and PR planning for client companies. She later changed jobs and was in charge of branding and promotion for a confectionary maker and a craft goods maker, and also managed collaboration projects with other companies.

As Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai approaches, we can feel a new wave of energy emerging throughout the city. However, there still seem to be few projects that truly embody the vision of “making Osaka a better place to live.” Our project aims to build a future-oriented city by having people like us—who are not yet elderly—understand the challenges and support needs of older generations. This initiative also aligns with the Expo’s theme of “achieving the SDGs and going beyond,” and seeks to foster new connections that lead to concrete actions for sustainable urban development.
