Chairperson, Lions Clubs International, District 335‑B, Region 8

IKEBATA Keisuke

He is a member of a Lions Club certified by Lions Clubs International, part of the world’s largest service organization. Within Japan’s Lions Clubs, he belongs to the Osaka–Wakayama area of Multiple District 335; District 335‑B includes nine clubs across Kishiwada City (five clubs), Kaizuka City, Izumisano City, Sennan City, and Misaki Town. For this event, those nine clubs are collaborating on activities under the theme of “Life.”

He will be involved in programs including blood drives, the new sport pickleball, beach cleanups conducted by the Misaki High School Pirika Club, live light‑music performances, vehicle displays (fire engines, police cars, etc.), adoption events for rescue cats and dogs, earthquake simulations using a shake‑table vehicle, and food trucks to enliven the festivities.

Because the last Osaka Expo took place when many of us were children, memories of it are faint. Seizing the historic opportunity of EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, we proposed an Expo‑named event for the Senshu region and received broad support from local clubs to move forward with its organization. This event will align with the Expo’s theme, “Designing Future Societies in which Life Shines,” and promote the charms of the Senshu area at home and abroad, aiming to create lasting memories for the children who will inherit the future and for local residents.
