Konohana Western Waterfront Greenbelt Area — Waterside Revitalization Council

He serves as Secretariat Officer for the Konohana Western Waterfront Greenbelt Area — Waterside Revitalization Council. A staff member of the Osaka Prefectural Urban Development Promotion Center (seconded from Osaka Prefectural Government), he is currently assigned to the Center’s Urban Development Support Division. There he supports early‑stage, resident‑led community development activities, assists municipalities with pre‑project planning and feasibility studies, and promotes placemaking that leverages public spaces such as riverbanks. In response to a support request from the Konohana Ward Office, he joined the council as part of the Center’s assistance for waterside placemaking initiatives in the Konohana Western Waterfront Greenbelt Area.
We hold weekly meetings attended by practitioners from the council’s participating organizations to prepare for the event. With each meeting, excitement for the event and cohesion among council members have grown. The Osaka Bay area is set to become increasingly vibrant around EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, and we in the Konohana Western Waterfront Greenbelt Area will join the momentum by staging our first joint event with businesses, organizations, government, and the local community working together.
