Representative Executive Director, General Incorporated Association WINK
She grew up in various parts of Japan due to her father’s job transfer, and the education she received during her elementary school years in Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture planted the root of her belief that “everyone has the right to work happily without discrimination.” After graduating from Chiba Prefectural Tokatsu High School and Keio University, she joined NTT. She later worked in corporate training at the venture company Globis. In 2012 she became independent as a career consultant, working on creating “workplaces that are easy to work in” from both individual and organizational perspectives. In 2021 she established WINK (General Incorporated Association), focusing on the difficulties faced by people without children and engaging in surveys, outreach, and workshops.
To advocate the importance of respecting human diversity and put into practice the Expo’s theme, “Designing Future Societies in which Life Shines,” I am reminded that the roots of my current DE&I work trace back to my time living in Osaka. Even issues that carry negative feelings can be transformed when diverse people come together; by using the Expo as a catalyst—where social challenges and solutions are showcased—we can unite wisdom across communities and positions to create collaborative initiatives.
