National Association of Owners of Registered Tangible Cultural Properties
He was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1974. After graduating from Kobe University’s Faculty of Law and completing the master’s program at the same university’s Graduate School of Law, he joined Osaka Housing Co., Ltd. Having been familiar with traditional Japanese music since childhood, he studied shakuhachi in the Tozan‑ryu school under Master Ueda Kakuyūzan. Together with relatives’ performance circles, he has organized workshops at historic buildings and developed an interest in unique venues.
He currently serves as Secretary General of the Osaka Prefecture Registered Cultural Properties Owners Association and as Director and Secretary General of the National Association of Owners of Registered Tangible Cultural Properties, where he coordinates owners’ opinions and promotes preservation and adaptive reuse. As an Osaka Prefecture Heritage Manager, he participates in other organizations’ activities and inspects historic buildings nationwide. Drawing on these experiences and recognizing the need to raise awareness of registered cultural properties and foster interaction between owners and the public through active use, he planned the “Gosaishin Project” and actively promotes unique‑venue initiatives.
We view Osaka—as a gateway linking Asuka, Nara, and Kyoto to the rest of Asia since ancient times—as a place rich beyond words in history, culture, and performing arts. For this Expo, we see a chance to share those treasures with the world through tangible cultural properties that visitors can actually see and experience. With the idea of how foreign cultures have influenced Japanese culture in mind, we have planned the “Registered Cultural Properties EXPO” and will invite participation so that these cultural assets attract interest from people worldwide.
