“Driven by a shared passion to bring the excitement of the Expo to everyone,” a dedicated student community was formed at Kansai University.

Kandai Banpakubu is an official Kansai University student community where enthusiastic students collaborate to contribute to the success of the Expo by tackling various challenges. This group of student creators comes together to develop innovative projects that allow each member to shine, drawing on their daily studies of the SDGs and other relevant topics. To date, they have launched several notable initiatives, including “EmoPro,” a project designed to overcome language barriers through emoji-only communication, the “Small Bowl Bento Project,” which focuses on creating bento meals using recipes that incorporate near-expiration emergency food supplies, and the “Kandai Expo Craft Cola & Beer Project,” which aims to connect people worldwide through beloved beverages. Looking ahead, they plan to take on an exciting new challenge with “Kandai Expo Weeks,” an initiative that will immerse the entire campus in the spirit of the Expo!

EmoPro: Leading the Way in “Emojication” to Overcome Language Barriers

This project is designed to spread “Emojication,” a communication tool that exclusively uses Japanese-origin emojis, across the globe. Our goal is to overcome language barriers at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, and create a future where anyone can easily communicate with anyone else.

Small Bowl Bento Project: Crafting rolling stock bento with recipes that utilize near-expiration emergency food supplies

Instead of simply consuming emergency food nearing its expiration, they aim to create Small Bowl Bento with thoughtfully arranged dishes that are both visually appealing and easy to eat, adding just a bit of extra effort.

Expo Craft Cola & Beer Project: Uniting people globally through cherished beverages

They have been cultivating hop seedlings for craft beer on university campuses and hosting workshops on the EXPO TRAIN with Hankyu Railway, using spices to craft cola. Through these three pillars—growing, creating, and connecting—they aim to build a future where people are united and can look forward to tomorrow with hope.
