“Ee yan Machi Fes” is a project where areas centered around Abeno, Tennoji, Uehonmachi, and Shin-Imamiya, in the southern part of Minami Osaka, join forces to promote the charm of the city.
They hold various events such as markets, workshops, and exhibitions on the 21st of every month.
They also provide information about Expo-related events held by various tourist facilities and commercial facilities in each area.
In the southern part of Minami Osaka, including Abeno, Tennoji, Uehonmachi, and Shin-imamiya, you’ll find a compact concentration of historical temples, shrines, museums, zoos, and large commercial facilities like Abeno Harukas and Tennoji Park, as well as shopping malls.
In addition, each facility is organizing Expo-related events independently.
They launched a project to coordinate the timing of these events, aiming to expand their reach and influence
Since its launch, various events such as markets, workshops, and exhibitions have been held in conjunction with the 21st of each month, a day when SHITENNOJI Temple is bustling with people commemorating Kobo Daishi’s monthly memorial service. They hold summer festivals and fairs during the summer vacation, and cultural festivals in November.
They are planning a comprehensive campaign in fiscal year 2024 to promote the Expo and attract visitors to the Tennoji Abe-no area after their visit.
They are also planning to hold events around 200 days and 100 days before the Expo, as well as during the period leading up to and following the Expo, to capitalize on the growing excitement.
