He has been dedicated to revitalizing Osaka for the past 40 years. By uniting local shopping districts and collaborating with various organizations, businesses, and government entities, he has successfully implemented numerous projects. Always looking ahead, he was one of the first to address inbound tourism, introducing Wi-Fi and multilingual services. Currently, he is focusing on cashless payments. He is also committed to promoting the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai and IR attraction to revitalize the Kansai region and Japan as a whole. He strives every day to create a safe, secure, and enjoyable city of Osaka.
We have been involved in the Expo from the very beginning of the bid process and have been holding countdown events every 100 days since the thousand-day mark until the opening. We aim to create opportunities for visitors from all over the world to experience Osaka’s food, commerce, and hospitality in various locations, encouraging them to become repeat visitors. While numerous projects are underway in preparation for the Expo, let’s all work together to make it a huge success.
